Home Ownership Matters Preservation Center, Inc is a not-for-profit organization which seeks to capitalize on the strength of the internet and other mass media to deliver resources related to diverting foreclosure directly to consumers. Consumers are seeking answers to some common questions and need some basic understanding to help them make informed decisions while dealing with housing concerns. Direct education via the website, videos and the blog will all address this need with answers available 24/7 in a format both easily available and delivered with consumer friendly formatting.

Incorporated in February 2010, HOMPCI grew out of the recognition by the founder that while providing comprehensive foreclosure intervention training to real estate professionals was ‘a’ way to help consumers, the MOST effective way would be direct consumer education via mass media. As frustration with the limited number of consumers who received modifications under HAMP (Home Affordable Modification Program) has grown, it has become widely accepted that a major factor was lack of consumer understanding of what their lending institution needed or how to prepare and provide information. HOMPCI seeks to fill the gap by preparing borrowers to more fully participate in addressing their mortgage default.

Oversight is provided by a volunteer board comprised of diverse finance, community and housing professionals while day to day operations are under the direction of the Executive Director.
